I've never heard this, could you elaborate?

As I understand it, dilute acetic acid is exactly the same stuff as in
vinegar, without the 'organic' stuff. Maybe the indicator in the
indicator stop could be bad, but I've never heard that either...

How do you know you've got the correct dilution? Does the vinegar bottle
say how much acid is in it? A teaspoon doesn't sound like enough...
