Hi all,

Thanks to all who responded to my original post on lag times between
"pressing the button" and exposing the film. Those two web sites were quite
useful and interesting, and I was especially impressed with the high-speed
imaging experiments of the young students.

I was surprised to find that these lag times are on the order of a few tens
of milliseconds to 100 milliseconds. I had guessed that in MF mode, you'd
be able to get the mechanical parts moving in less time than that. It
certainly sounds like controlling the timing with a flash, rather than with
the focal-plane shutter, is the most straightforward approach. Now I'm even
more anxious to set up a few experiments of my own and play around a bit!
