I think you made a good choice. The 50 mm with the 2x will be a lot
smaller than the 100/2.8 Macro is. Now if you want Macro, you can't beat
the 100/2.8.

Subject: Ordered TC fPantax (Why?)

Ommmm\An On Going Saga:

Okay, so I bought the Tamron 2x (7 element) TC for Pentax AF, from B+H.
Why?
Well, I really want to see what that super sharp 50mm f1.4 FA of mine will
do with it. Will it become a fairly good f2.8 100m? (I think so. If it's so
good now?)
And a prime 2.8 100mm FA is now going for $330 at B+H. The TC was only
$125...
I know, I know, some of you will say the Pentax 2.8 100mm is really worth
it, that it would've really been the smarter thing to do.
But I think I might like to get a 70-210mm sometime in the future. And then,
(later) either a 24 or 28mm prime.
So then the TC could be used with all of them. And I should then have pretty
much everything I need in the way of a system.
But in the interim, I'll have the 50 and the 2X=100 to play with...
(My way of thinking. FWIW.)

By the way, is this a moderated (censored) list? Several of my postings
(on-topic, too) have just wandered away and gotten lost in the great www
somewhere out there.
If I take the trouble to write it, it means I'd like someone to at least see
it, yes?
(But maybe it's just a software bug.)
