Normal plain text stuff DOESNT go off my screen. I have the wrap to
window thing turned on in my Netscape preferences.

No shit, sherlock -

Not since the DOS days, baby - there aint no such thing as normal in WINDOZE

I have a 17"monitor - have the display at 800x600, bold variable width 11
font overriding
all incoming stuff. ITs lovely. I have the setting set to wrap to window
width.

Tom the mystery is only when I receive posts that have , instead of text in
the body of
the mail, the following:

> > Part 1.1

> >

Is this MIME? Is that the problem???

Anyway, sometimes when I open these it is plain text, not bolded (of course)
but nicely
all of the mail appears right here on my screen. But other times the entire
body of the
text goes streaming off into lala land in one continuous line - as if it were
written in a line editor that permitted 200 to 300 characters. Mostly these
post come from AOL folk.
IF I highlight and copy to a blank Composer page, it falls into line!
Not only that, but I get plenty of mail from some friends on AOL which is
perfectly "normal"
But then, they may still have 5.0...

I would like to think this isn't unsolvable. oh well.

Just for the record, I've been working with computers since 1961 which means
I tend
to sneer at all the windows frills and get really annoyed at a whole lot of
things it does
and doesn't do. I'm trying to adjust - photoshop helps, I like that. But Id
give a lot
to have a unix shell account back and do my mail in pine!

Thanks for your input though - maybe someone will figure it all out.
