AFAIK they both have the same AF system. However, I would expect them to
focus differently if one was in spot AF mode and the other was in wide AF
mode. (little switch on the shutter side of the lens on BOTH cameras) We
considered getting the 3, but got the 5n because of cost and availability.
No regrets.

Subject: MZ3 vs. MZ5n
Is it me or does the MZ3 focus faster and more
acurately than the MZ5n? I tried them both the other
day at the store with the same lens and the MZ3
practically didn't hunt and focused much faster. The
MZ5n would almost always hunt when I focused from one
close point to a distant one. The store is kind of
dark and it's night, though. Does anybody have
experienced both bodies? Is that due to the 3 focus
sensors on the MZ3?
