I have to comment on this.  I have a digital camera, a
Kodak DC260, 1.5 megapixal, state of the art as of two
years ago cost me more than my both my MX's and winder
and a couple of lenses.  Hopelessly outdated less than
3 months, (and no longer supported by Kodak by the
way), after I bought it.  My 35mm SLR's image capture
capabilities are updated every time film is improved. 
Maybe when the "NEW" Pentax Digital SLR is released
with it's 6 megapixal CCD I'll think differently but I
doubt it.
