Skip,
I use the Velbon mag head on my carbon tripod. I like
the rectangular shape of th camera platform with the
round attatching screw grip, which allows my hand to
work the head in the most ergonomic way. It is the
fastest ball head I've ever worked with, including
Benbo, Bogen, Gitzo, and many other generic tripod
heads. Hope this helps.
