But, I have a camera that looks pretty sexy too. (As a matter of fact, JCO, I think I told you about, and even offered to sell it to you, but you said no, You said you'd might like the mint condition black ES I have, but not this one). I have: A GOLD ES. That's right. No, not 24 karat. But from a distance you'd never tell. I've had people do a double take when they see it in my hands. Here's how it got like that: I bought a black ES, which is my main "high speed panchromatic" camera. It had some brassing on the edges. About a year later, I thought to sell it, and couldn't get near the money I thought it deserved. I concluded people were shied away by the brass showing. So I took the top and bottom plate off, removed all the paint, with the intention of re-painting it. Well, just on a whim, I took out some brasso (brass polish) and shined up a little section of the top plate. Then I got carried away. For the better part of a weekend, I polished and buffed, buffed and polished, until I had a 24 karat brass ES. This girl shines like the sun!! I then got some lacquer, gave it an over spray to prevent the brass from tarnishing, and put it back together. It's been about a year since then, and the varnish is perfect, as is the lustrous shine on my GOLD ES. I knew less than a month after this little project I wasn't going to sell the camera. It is just too pretty. And like I said, the varnish is holding up just fine, and I use this camera almost every day. If anyone's interested, I can email a pic. I still don't know how to upload stuff to my as yet un-built web page. I'm just waiting for my oldest daughter to hold my hand and show me how to do it. So, there. Oh, by the way, JCO, you wanna trade? I wouldn't want any extra money from you to compensate for the extra features this camera has that yours doesn't. I'm just too nice of a guy, I guess. Har!!
