Chris, et al,

I appreciate the kind words, but they're really not necessary. I
wasn't fishing for compliments. I should have responded to Len
privately, because I'd rather have list maintenance conversations
held off-list.

Oh, and Chris, I have ten or so filters and their related mailboxes
set up just for list-related issues, so bounces (and their variants)
are separated out for examination and contemplation as to what to do
about them. For instance, I know Home.com's servers are relatively
unstable, but they usually come back online pretty quickly, so I
don't have to do anything right off. You get the idea. The thing is,
I still have to look at them, =want= to look at them to ascertain if
there's a problem with the list.

Please understand that any sour-sounding remarks I make about my role
as List Guy are at least halfway tongue-in-cheek. I knew the hassles
involved when I took this on, and I do enjoy maintaining the list.
It's given me rare insight into the workings of the email world.

Plus, knowing that I can unsubscribe any of you ingrates with a few
keystrokes is kinda fun. bwahahaha.

Later,

Doug
