Call the marketing department! A Pentax Woodie! Black lacquer and
Brazilian mahogany would be very nice--or maybe chrome or nickel plating
and birdseye maple w/ a blonde finish.
It wouldn't take much veneer to cover a body, but the problem you'd have
would be the different expansion rates between the metal body and the wood
veneer causing the veneer to either peel off or tear itself apart.
Somethingelse that would be cool would be for Sid to take his 24K Brass
Spotmatic to a gunsmith who specializes in fancy engraving. Very much in
keeping with the polished brass.
Now, what body for sidepipes and and candyapple red? ;-)
