Hi Wieland,
That's why I had to find something other than my FA 35/2 AL to use with
this Auto Bellows-A.
>From the Special Notes section of the Auto Bellows-A Slide Copier-A manual:
"1. The wide-angle lenses up to 35mm and the 40mm f/2.8 lens are excluded
from the close-up tables. For such wide-angle lenses with short focal
lenghts and high-speed lenses are not suited for close-up work of high
magnification, unless they are used in reverse.
The extension of the Auto Bellows A is 38mm or more. Therefore, if a
wide-angle lens, 35mm or less, is used with the bellows, the magnification
exceeds 1X. The lens should be reversed at such a time.
The 40mm f2.8 lens, which provides a magnification of about 1X, should be
used with the Auto Extension Tube K for close-up work.
2. Also excluded from the close-up tables are fast lenses such as the 50mm
f/1.2 and 50mm f/1.4, which produce magnifications of about 1X and have
unsatisfactory sharpness for flat subjects."
Tables for the M and A 50mm f/1.4 mounted reversed are provided, however,
so I guess the 1.4s are ok reversed.
