I'm not sure what variants are out there. I've heard the 55 f1.2 is made by
Cosina. It may have been produced under brand names. I don't know if
Cosina is just the manufacturing agent of if this is one of their lenses -
Ricoh seems to design their own lenses for their SLR's and for Leica as well.
Ricoh has stopped selling SLR's in the USA, sticking only with digital.
Last I heard they were still selling SLR's in the rest of the world, but
news of them stopping would probably never make it here to the states.
One word of caution - DO NOT use Ricoh "P" lenses on AF Pentax bodies - the
ball bearing contact on the "P" lens will lock tight into the hole for the
Pentax AF shaft. These lenses will work OK on non-AF Pentaxes. (The 55mm
f1.2 I mentioned is not a "P" lens.)
