Hi Friends! I recently used Tamron 7 elemnt 2X converter with FA 50 mm f1.7 lens and took 12 pictures of my daughters dolls and other things at the back of my house with 100 ASA print film. Then I took another 12 pictures of the same subjects with FA 135 f2.8 lens. Pictures were taken at f4 in aperture priority mode. I tried to keep the pictures equal in size by moving myself. I then asked my wife [to prevent bias - my wife did not knew which pictures were taken with which lens] to pick the sharpest pictures of the equivalent subjects. My wife picked equal numbers of pictures taken with 135 mm lens & with 50mm combo. So it seems that FA 50mm f1.7 with Tamron 2X converter can be used as 100 mm lens sometime. Later on I did the same experiment with Elite chrome 200 ASA slide film with same result. Has any of you used this combination or Tamron 2x with any other lenses? What were your results?
