here in Olde Englande we have a special day for them, imaginatively called
'Pancake Day', which takes place on Shrove Tuesday (or is it Ash Wednesday,
I forget).

Anyway, it all goes back to the days of yore, even before Errol Flynn
had laddered his first pair of tights on Little John's enormous staff, and
Marion hadn't yet been made. Pancake Day is the first day of Lent so everybody
had to try and give up their pancakes, and the really traditional way to do it
was by auctioning them on ye thigh-slapping internette.

Forsooth.
