I have a bottle of 'slow' fixer for just such an occasion. I bought it
by accident.

I bet powdered fix would last longer...

I don't know about that...if they're incompletely fixed, couldn't you
just store them in the dark until you get more fix? Maybe wind them back
onto reels and store them in the tank? Leave them in the sleeves and put
that in your paper safe?

It might also pay to make friends with someone local who does their own
processing.
