Hi Matjaz,
Could you please clarify the information about the viewfinder?
You say
it is definitely not a High Eyepoint, which would mean you might have
to move your eye all around to see the edges. Is that what you meant?
Later, you then say the magnification is lower than the MZ-3.
Specifically, I'm interested in knowing if the edges of the viewfinder
are easier or harder to see than the MZ-3 without needing to move your
eye around. And what about the brightness of it? And do the AF
brackets light up when chosen?
Thanks,
Ed
Ed, I do wear glasses. With my glasses on I had to move the eye
around a bit to see the corners - so I'd say that corners are visible
more less like with MZ-3. The ocular does have diopter ajustment
just like other MZ models.
When I looked through the viewfinder and compared the image with the
one of MZ-3( which was there on the shelf beside me so I was able to
make direct comparison), it covered more of the frame than MZ-3 did.
I can't really tell how much more, but there was more.
The part about magnification is based entirely on my personal
feeling. I didn't make any real comparison (there is so much one
wantes to try on such new camera :) ) So to repeat it, I felt the
the magnification is a bit smaller. Brightness appeared good to me,
but again, I didn't perform any real test.
AF brackets don't light up - so there is no LCD layer to reduce the
brightness of the viewfinder. One can see which AF point is selected
bellow the viewfinder like all other infos. And, these are visible
really good. Much much better that in MZ-3.
Hope it helps, Matjaz
