I have never used the -7 but have a -5n and have had PZ-1 & -1p cameras and
have never noticed a big difference in AF speed when the same lens is used
on the same type subjects. I prefer the control layout and features of the
-5n best.

I think the big question is how much will you be using the various program
settings. If you shoot and want lots of manual control and a traditional
layout then go with the -5n. If you want to shoot mainly in the program
modes and prefer buttons over dials then go with the -7.

For faster/better AF under less than perfect conditions, go with the fastest
glass you can afford (or are willing buy/carry). The speed of the lens and
the available light always seem to affect the AF speed more than the
differences between bodies.
