Amid all this talk lately of Manfrotto tripods, ball heads, and other
tripod esoterica, I find I suddenly have a need for a sturdy tripod.
A new lens walked in the door (F* 300mm f/4.5) and it is clear that
my old ca. 1980 Velbon is a-quivering away with lens+Z1-p body
mounted on it.
I anticipate that all the shots I've taken so far will be afflicted
with camera shake, even though I'm using the Z1-p's pseudo-MLU. Woe
is me. I have the horrible suspicion that even the use of a cable
switch won't get rid of the quiver and shake.
As the camera budget, she is exhausted by her lens acquisition
efforts, can anyone suggest a *cheap* but sturdy tripod, new or old?
If old, a pointer to a seller would be appreciated, even if it's just
"look for a thus-and-such on ebay."
TIA
