Oh, no it isn't. It might have been 40 years ago with the emulsions that
were common back then but not with today's thin emulsions. Run careful
experiments and you'll see.

I rejected several articles about this "technique" at _PHOTO Techniques_
magazine because if the author went back and did the experiments with
controls, he couldn't prove there was any compensating effect. At all. This
really went out with bell-bottoms, wide ties, and Super-XX.
