Best not to send to the list itself - 7bit email/text & all that.
General Accepted Procedure is to post images to the Web somewhere
and include the URL in your announcement message. If you leave
the http:// part intact, it will become a "hot-link" for easy
access by anyone interested, as below:

which is a shot of me up in "da plane" a few weeks ago which a
friend I took along in the back seat shot w/ his Olympus Stylus
Zoom something or other on C41 b&w and had processed horribly
through a supermarket sendout service. Almost impossible to scan!
