The MZ-S is not THE flagship meaning there will be a camera above it. The MZ-S is
indeed the current flagship and the flagship of the MZ-line.

Its obvious to me that the MZ-S is in a completely different league than the Z-1p.
With these max fps and top shutterspeed arguments it can be argued that the Z-1p is in
the same class as the EOS-1v; after all the only difference between them is a few
extra focus point and some fps for the EOS-1v. It doesn't work that way.
On a pure feature count basis the MZ-S surpasses the Z-1p. The max shutter speed is
only 1/4 stop lower; totally insignificant. The difference in flash synch speed is 1/2
stop. However, the MZ-S can indeed synch at 1/250s and the loss in guide number at
this speed is probably hardly measureable. The only thing going for the the Z-1p is
slightly higher fps.
If Pentax' claim of LX durability is to be believed, then the MZ-S is a pure pro
camera specified for more than 100 000 shutter cycles putting it firmly in F5 and
EOS-1 territory. In comparison the Z-1p is shutter cycle is somewhere between 25
000-50 000. We are talking about a totally different league of camera if Pentax isn't
bullshitting us. I doubt however that Pentax would have claimed LX durability if it
wasn't true.
