Can't, unless it physically marks the film.
I think the system probably counts sprocket holes, and would not work if
you do not place the end of the leader tongue exactly where you always
place it. If you tend to push the film in a notch or two, because you
don't trust that the mechanism will grab it properly with only a quarter
inch in the takeup chamber, you cannot predict where the frames will be
accurately. I'm sure there's a line you must toe somehow.
