Sorry, old boy, this was in my history books. Actually, there was always some war going on in Europe during all these times. It seemed (to me) to be the national passtime of of the European nobility. > Had we tried our "revolution" starting in > say 1885, the Brits would have wiped our butts everyday and twice on Sundays. Possibly, or perhaps it would simply have taken longer. Most colonists were armed (unlike the general populous of Europe. > Old Ben Franklin was more than an adequate spy, he was also very perceptive. > He reported the coming "window of opportunity" to the "Founding Fathers" who > made their move as Britain began to founder. Not entirely,we didn't have the means. During W.W.I American soldiers joined the French Foreign Legion (It didn't require one to swear allegiance to France) to fly in the "Lafayette Escadrille". Their motto was "Lafayette, we have returned! ". > *The true story of which America tells another series of blatant lies. Nonsense! No more error than is commojn in history and less. After all, we have an entirely free press here, unlike Britain which bans some publications "for the publics good". Everyone can write about anything giving the account they believe they can prove. - This message is from the Pentax-Discuss Mail List.
