I am not sure if you guys can get them, but down here we can buy miniature
M+M's (like regular M+Ms only smaller) which come in a pop-top plastic
container. The container is slightly longer internally than a 120 spool, so a
little piece of foam or polystyrene (or even scrunched up paper) will stop it
from rattling.
I have several and use them to protect my film while on trips. I've noticed I
can even fit unused Kodak film (in its wrapper) into one, removable with a
flick of the wrist. Fuji seems to include more air in their wrapper so they
don't quite fit.
The real bonus is that the containers only cost a dollar each, and they come
filled with free chocolate! :) They even come in different colours so you can
use yellow for Kodak and green for Fuji, or whatever. And your lab will just
love to see you putting all those M+Ms containers on their counter (until they
realise there's film in them).
Cheers,
- Dave
