Service has been good. I never wait more than 1,5 weeks to getting things repared (not
too bad considering the distance to the nearest Pentax repair facility is 2000km -
basically the time is what it takes in the mail!).
I was in Iceland when I discovered the problem. Due to hassles with customs and
shipping, I waited with servicing until I was back in Norway. I also showed the camera
to the repair facility in Iceland but they couldn't find anything wrong with it.
Another problem here is that I get my film developed in batches - it may take months
between each batch. Also, the problem is intermittent and it may (I'm not sure) be
more pronounced in winter time due to low temperatures although my latests films was
shot both with warm and cold camera. The wintertime phenomena may also be due to
different shooting style with wider apertures and different film.
I also noticed when using Kodak E-emulsions and looking at the film plane during
exposure that it looked like skin of an orange. Not totally smooth but small-scale
wrinkled or bumpy. I switched to Provia F but sharpness still varies although the
emulsion look smooth.
