I don't think that you personally need a camera anymore either. There was a collection of photographs in the NY Times Magazine section a few weeks ago by a "photographer" that works more like a film director. There's a very large crew and the person who ultimately pushes the button is only the "camera operator". Now you don't even need to touch the camera to be the photographer.
