Hi, Boris, I have several Soligor lenses, both m42 and k-mount, and they're okay for what they are: inexpensive lenses to put on my bodies until I can afford to use better. Not that they're bad lenses, especially for what I paid.
You mentioned the C/D series, and I have a screwmount 3.5 constant aperture 35-105mm. I doubt very much that it's comparable to Vivitar Series 1. Mine is very soft at the edges when the lens is wide and the aperture is open. More than soft - it's almost unusable wider than 45mm and bigger than 5.6. Apparently, I'm not the only one to have a similar experience with this lens, so I don't think I just got a bad sample. I don't have the equivalent Series 1, but I do have a 3.5 constant aperture 24-48mm, and it's extremely sharp at wide focal lengths and wide open apertures. regards, frank Boris Liberman wrote: > Hi! > > I happen to have Soligor 70-222/3.5 C/D lens.
