I have checked it twice, and matrix metering will work with "A" lenses in other position than A. Just made two tests: 1. On PZ-1P metering mode is always displayed on LCD. In case of using "A" lenses matrix metering is on all the time - even if such a lens is set in other postion than A. As a contrary with all M and K lenses CW metering is on all the time 2. On MZ-S and MZ-6, when you use original AF360FGZ flash, they need some information from lenses to work in P-TTL mode. And indeed P-TTL and flash range works also with "A" lenses in aperture ring in position other than A. K and M lenses swith flash operation to classic TTL mode and you won't obtain flash range information on AF360 LCD.
