A cheap press camera is an easy start for field work, and the movements should be adequete for landscapes and portraits. The common press cameras are the Graflex cameras: The Crown lacks a focal shutter and would be smaller and lighter, a Speed has an FP shutter can can use barrel lenses, teh Super has more movements. There's also others, like the Bushman.. Collin B could tell you more, he has one. Often you'll find one come with a 135mm lens. This is a bit wider than a normal lens, but will be servicable and cheap. Many people have a wider lens (like a 90mm) and a longer (like a 200mm), as well. The cheapest way to do filters on your len(es) might be to use a Cokin P holder witht he universal adapter. The easiest way might be to watch Ebay for an old press camera kit, which'll come with the lens and a holder or two. A polaroid 545 back can also be useful. Get a hefty tripod, use your 35mm to meter, and a dark cloth. Enjoy. -- http://www.infotainment.org <-> more fun than a poke in your eye. http://www.eighteenpercent.com <-> photography and portfolio.
