Well, I think you're correct about the Vivitar Series 1 24-48/3.8,
Paul - I believe it's the "original" VS1 wide-angle zoom, and it is
a very nice lens.  On the other hand, I think that the other Vivitar
lens might actually be a Vivitar (non-VS1) 28-50/3.5, or something
like that, but I don't really know anything about it (so I certainly
can't say which is sharper - <g>).  The VS1 24-48/3.8 is the
"widest" zoom I've ever used myself.  (The "widest" Pentax zoom I've
used is the A 28-135/4.)
