I run an AMD Athlon 1800XP at about 1.7 ghz using 7 fans. I have vent holes all over the box, and with good quality fans, the noise is OK. It runs W2K rock solid at about 48c (under normal load). On a 35c day, it will run at about 57-58c, but still stable.

Cheers and seasons greetings...

Shaun

Lasse,

Number 1 son had the same problem two years ago.
He proudly built a super-duper new computer powered by a new Athlon chip. It ran, he was happy, and pleased and proud at the same time.
Then he ran it for an half an hour then it started giving him errors on his video game.
He shut it off and came back later, same result... OK then errors.
After several days of swearing under his breath, calling ADM, and being sullen,
somebody pointed him at a cooling fan for his chip.

Very hard problem to identify and solve. Congratulations!

Regards, Bob S.

it seems like my great computer
"blue-screen-problem" may have been due to faulty processor cooler
fans (two of them, in two different computers), which problem I may
just now have solved (knock-on wood)by the second hand purchase of two
cooler fans, which I also installed to the occasional loud
accompaniment of cursing, groaning and pleas to God Almighty to
untighten the screws and wire connections just a little bit,
