This design weakness - light entering the viewfinder amazes me. I just don't
understand it. Alpa Reflexes made forty years ago had a photocell facing the
viewfinder connected across the metering circuit ( + to + and - to -) to
remove any contribution from light leaking in the back. A simple obvious
solution.
That's because there are 2 light sensors sit right next to the eyepiece inside the viewfinder. When the light gets inside the viewfinder from the eyepiece, the reflected light would fool the sensors and cause underexposure. However, since MX is a fully manual camera, the chance of error is slim, unlike full or semi-auto exposure modes.
