You have given me just what I need to find my problem, and I thank you very much,,,I am new to this or should I say its been about 30 yrs since I meddled in the photo thing and I thank you for your help. Also, are you in Holland? Dear William,
Like others pointed out, your problem has, most probably, to do with the
fact that the shutter speed must be slow enough to have the way to the
negative completely free at the moment the flash appears.
You can test this as follows:
"take a picture" without film, with the flash on, in a little bit dark
room,without a lens mounted,keep the film door wide open. Look from the rear
side to see the light passing the shutter.
With the shutter at 50% of the correct "flash sync speed",in your case 1/125
sec, you will see that about 50% of the negative will not receive light (50%
will receive, for the optimist :-))
At the correct flash sync speed (in your case 1/60 sec)you should see that
the whole negative receives light.
Hope this help to check if this was really your problem.

HELLO- I AM NEW TO THIS----WELL BEEN 25 YEARS OR SO AND THIS PENTAX K1000 IS
CAUSING ME A PROBLEM ONLY WHEN USING FLASH, IT CUTS OUT-OVER EXPOSES THE
