Never under expose.
Bad things happen.
If you are shooting in a low contrast situation, consider
extending developement (N+1, to as much as N+3), depending on
how flat the light is.
The #8 filter is a good one to have on for as a general purpose
B&W filter. It's what I use unless I actually have a reason to
use something else.
