Changing the subject line at whim and with no indication of the content is what is annoying�even more so when it turns out the topic hasn't changed. On one hand it throws off the people who are trying to follow the discussion and on the other it wastes the time of the people who were trying to avoid that particular discussion.
Changing a subject line to accurately indicate the contents is civil courtesy in online communities. I wouldn't fault you or anyone else for that.
