I haven't done much astrophotography as of late (say, in the last seven or eight years or so), but my favorite film for a long time for such a purpose was Ektachrome (I think I used an ASA 200 version). I never had much success with any print film for astro work, and I did prefer Ektachrome to Kodachrome for slides. I also never tried any brands other than Kodak, as I recall. (For terrestrial shooting, on the other hand, I've used mostly Fuji print film for a couple decades now.) Fred
