The K and M 135/3.5's (and they are distinctly different designs) are somewhat slow, of course, but I think they're better lenses than is the A 135/2.8 (at least the one that I used to own). Sorry to say so, Steve, but I prefer the larger K 135/3.5, the smaller M 135/3.5, the K 135/2.5, and the A* 135/1.8 to the A 135/2.8. (YMMV) The 135/3.5's are sharp, are contrasty, and have nice bokeh. It's worth trying one of these. I'm not sure that they're exactly "sought-after" too much, but that's at least partially because it's fairly easy to find one of 'em and not very expensive to buy. Fred
