For what it worth I have been watching film scanners on Ebay since about 3
weeks before Christmas. BTW if you don't know you can search the closed
(sold) items on there.  The old solds showed Nikon LS-40's selling for
100-125 bucks.

Two weeks or a bit more before Christmas they were going for a 175-200+.
Some other things I looked at did the same thing. Jumped at Christmas.
Hopefully things will go back down.  So far all I have been willing to buy
was a couple of specialty CD's.
