Just saw this on http://www.macnn.com/ ,
"Epson today introduced the Epson Perfection 3200 scanner, which is
available in two configurations-the Photo ($400) and 3200 Pro ($600).
The scanners offer maximum hardware resolutions of 3200x6400 dpi.
48-bit color depth, both USB 2.0 and FireWire connectivity, and a 4" x
9" transparency unit for scanning 35mm slides, negatives and 4" x 5"
transparencies. Additionally, the Pro model offers both reflective and
transmissive IT8 targets for color matching both film and photos. Both
are expected to ship in late March with LaserSoft SilverFast and Adobe
Photoshop Elements software. The Pro version also bundles MonacoEZcolor
and other ArcSoft titles (PhotoStudio, PhotoBase and Panorama Maker)."
