In my attempts to not get killed buying a Pentax 67II I have so far
accomplished the following:

Phase 1. Non-chalantly talk about the camera system with wife. "Yes it is
a lot of money". "No, I won't want another camera after this one." "Yes,
with the larger frame size I might be able to sell some work allowing it to
pay for itself". "That's not true, you'll get your new kitchen table, we'll
be able to build the retaining wall next to the house, don't worry."

Phase 2a. Purchase a portable stereo system and 6 CD's for her father and
have it shipped to his house as a surprise. "You're so sweet honey. I just
know he's going to love it. He never gets surprises anymore. I'm telling
him this was all your idea and I had very little to do with it. "

Phase 2b. Send my wife to go look for the kitchen table. Phone rings...
"They still have them. What size do you think we should get 5.5', 6' or
6.5'. Me: I think the middle size would be right for our kitchen, what do
you think? "I think so to she says". Me: OK, well see if they have one
that's in good shape and that you will definitely be happy with. Phone
rings again: "They have one honey, it's exactly the same tone as the
cabinets and I know I'll love it." Me: OK, go ahead and get it then.

Phase 3a. Why I'm at work on a sunny Saturday afternoon.
