ok, i'll bite. as far as looks go, pretty much everything these days ends up in photoshop, and desaturating is a very simple step there. so from this standpoint it doesn't matter whether i shoot bw or color. i shoot bw because i get to develop it myself. because i know it's not going to fade as color slides. also, sometimes it's nice to *not to think* about color at all when shooting (e.g like when it's an artificial light).
