I'll make sure I mention this to the bank when they forclose on my home due to my inability to pay for my mortgage. When they ask why I'll just have to explain to them about my interest and passion. :-)
Those of us without unlimited cash flow or the ability to "write it off" against taxes etc. cannot spend oodles of cash. Professionals can write off the expense against the business. A DSLR can be listed as such, just as any auto shop would expense tools because they are used in the business to incur revenue. If you're not using the DSLR to incur revenue, and you have a spare $4,000 CDN laying around, either buy a D90 for yourself or be a nice guy and send one to me. ;-) Cheers, Dave Original Message: ----------------- From: Mike Johnston [EMAIL PROTECTED] Date: Fri, 17 Jan 2003 07:58:39 -0600 To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: All the Leicas he wants >> In that case (as I pointed out) then he is a professional who can justify >> the cost. >> >> I on the other hand am not and therefore cannot. >> >> Dave > > The way I look at it is just the opposite. Not being a professional, the > interest and the passion justifies the cost. Exactly so. The professional is the one who must be hard-headed about justifying the cost of everything. The amateur can buy all the Leicas he wants. <g> --Mike -------------------------------------------------------------------- mail2web - Check your email from the web at http://mail2web.com/ .
