Yah Skip, I was thinking of balance when I wrote. I did not consider you were 
speaking of handholding long, heavy, zoom lenses. My question also was 
spurred by the knowledge when ~I~ shoot long or heavy lenses, the lens has a 
tripod collar. 
*Want to see something comical? My old PZ-1p mounted to a PENTAX FA* 250-600 
ED IF lens. You can barely make out the tiny body against all that silver!
