I agree with those too.  I can also recommend "The complete Guide to
Close-Up & Macro Photography" by Paul Harcourt Davies.

My number one advice would be to decide "What is Macro Work?"  Do you want
to fill the frame with a butterfly?  A house fly?  a mosquito?  Once you
decide how you want to approach close-ups and what you want to photograph,
building technique becomes a lot easier and leads to experience which will
give you the desire to try new ideas and different subjects.
