There can be a problem with changes of OS. I used Adaptec's Easy CD creator on Win98 with great success: now, having changed to XP, the old CD-RW's are not readable! Adaptec does not have an XP driver for the version of the program I have, so I have to fork out for a new version, on which I cannot necessarily rely to be compatible with the original, or install the burner and Adaptec on another computer and go through the business of re-burning.
