Is your Auto-Takumar the real old one, with the alternating chrome/black on the focus ring scallops? That's the one that came with the original Asahi Pentax K, I believe, and is really hard to find. Later, a 55/1.8 Auto-Takumar came standard on the H3/S3, but it was really a Super-Takumar -- it had the A/M switch, was all black, and reopened immediately after exposure.
What's the filter ring diameter?

I only have one Auto-Takumar, the 55mm f/1.8, and it has 8 aperture blades. When near open, it's so close to a pure circle...3.5 on down, it's nicely done.keith whaley
