Bob, The difference that you see between "movies" and "videotapes" is contrast ratio. Simply put, color reversal film (slides and movies) can record something like a 400:1 difference in contrast; video, far less (60:1?). Color print film can record, I think, a 7-stop difference, or 64:1. Your question is an interesting one. Someone who shoots slides might be disappointed in the contrast yielded by digital. But then, you can "goose up" the contrast easily in the PC, so it matters less. Did I miss the answer to Bob's question? What is the "native" contrast ratio of typical CCDs? [EMAIL PROTECTED]
