I find flowers disturbing. Especially in color. I think it was the French painter Edgar Degas who wrote that he was disturbed by the visual cacaphony of bouquets of flowers. He seldom painted them, with one famous exception, a painting that showed a vase of flowers on a table and a woman off to the right. But he said he found this painting distressing rather than pretty. Ancient memories here, I could be wrong. --Mike
