I have more bottles of hardener around than I can count. I never use the
stuff. It makes the emulsion hard to wash, and easy to scratch.

That seems a little short for fixer, I would think a couple of months
anyway, the stuff is neither photo reactive nor is it oxyreactive.
If it gets a black precipitate in it, dump it.
