I certainly wouldn't say it's "poor" at wide apertures. Like most lenses, it gets better as you close down the aperture. The 43/1.9 is no slouch wide open, better closed down one stop and simply breathtaking from f/5.6 to f/11. -- Mark Roberts Photography and writing www.robertstech.com
